Menstrual health is a critical aspect of women’s health, affecting over half of the world’s population. Despite its importance, Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) remains overlooked. In Cameroon, many women and girls struggle to afford sanitary pads, hindering their health, education, and economic contributions to community development.

The MHH project aims to address this issue by raising awareness about proper menstrual hygiene practices increasing access to affordable sanitary pads and menstrual supplies. By doing so, we can improve the health, well-being, and empowerment of women and girls in Cameroon.

Project Goals

  • Curb down the rate of period poverty
  • Distribute sanitary pads and other sanitary products to over 1000 Internally Displaced girls.
  • Ease access to menstrual supplies for young girls
  • Break the stigma around menstruation
  • Educate young girls and women on the best hygienic practices during menstruation.
  • Sensitize boys and men on the importance of knowing about menstruation as a strategic gender need for them.
